Many locals can’t get enough of the uniquely flavored BBQ sauce and the accompanying bang bang sauce, which elevates the meal to the next level. The fries get a lot of attention too; diners describe them as perfectly seasoned and addictive. Most Disliked
Some reviews mention the limited seating inside the restaurant, which can make it feel cramped, especially during busy lunch hours. A few customers also expressed a desire for more vegetable-forward side options to balance the hearty menu. Mashed potatoes and gravy are in demand, indicating that some diners would appreciate more variety in sides. While the small location may not cater to larger groups, it still attracts steady foot traffic from locals. Overall, the minor drawbacks do not overshadow the overwhelmingly positive experiences reported by patrons.

Just tried this place for the first time after stumbling in. They have generous portions, great prices, and the bbq sauce is transporting. Literally such a unique flavor and sooooo good. We got a couple tritip plates and a burger for my kids. Everything was good and the owner was very kind. The highlights for me were the tender and flavorful tritip, the bbq sauce & bang bang sauce, the beans and fries. I do wish they had a cold or veggie forward side offering but other than that it is definitely worth a try.

Awesome place, first time here on my way back from work. I've always passed the restaurant every morning on my way to work and their signs have always intrigued me. Decided to try the tri-tip plates and I would say, this is one of the best tri tip I've ever had! Moist and flavorful with great sides. I wanted the mashed potatoes and gravy but they dont have that yet so really excited to try that. The guy was really kind and nice, I can definitely sense the passion from him by just his energy. Would highly recommend, definitely a hole in a wall type of restaurant! P.S. their fries are so delicious, I've never had fries like this before and I am obsessed 🙌

I’m originally from the Bay Area but was in Citrus Heights visiting family. A friend and I wanted to grab a solid burger before heading down to the river in Auburn, so we checked Yelp and found Baba’s BBQ. When we pulled up, we honestly thought it might be closed since the inside is small with limited seating. Luckily, we noticed a few tables outside and decided to give it a shot. So glad we did. I ordered the brisket tacos with a side of fries, plus the lemonade. Everything is made from scratch—from the sauces to the lemonade—and you can taste the love in it—Baba even said "it's all made with love!" The fries were some of the best seasoned fries I’ve ever had, and the sauces? Next level. The owner, Baba, is awesome. He’s genuinely passionate about both his food and his customers, and that energy shows. This place is ridiculously good. If you’re local, it’s perfect for pickup or delivery, but I’d suggest stopping by at least once just to meet Baba in person. Easily one of the best lunch spots in the area, and I hope to see him grow into a bigger spot because he deserves it.

I had the tri tip plate and it was delicious!! The baked beans have the perfect amount of kick. The bbq sauce is tasty tangy and sweet! The other sauce has a great smoke flavor. Definitely going to add these guys to my rotation.

Best tri-tip sandwich, hands-down. My sister had the chicken sandwich and I had the tri-tip sandwich. She said it was the best chicken sandwich that she’s ever had. It’s hard to find BBQ places around the area and this one is definitely 10/10. I Highly recommend

This guy knows his tri tip! The tri tip fries are loaded and amazing perfect twist on carne asada fries. The tri tip sandwich was next level with a side of crispy perfectly cooked onion rings and the house sauce is a must try. I will be going back to try the chicken but this place is really good would for sure suggest. Not really a dine in type of place get it to go.
